Massage and his silence by the bed

Massage and his silence by the bed

The bag stood by the door, strap still warm from my hand. The hallway smelled of fresh paint from the unit next door. I came in, put the kettle on and called him from the kitchen.

Other hands and our cage

Wife gets turned on by a massage — it is not just words. We sat on the edge of the bed. I pulled off my sweater and stayed in the tank top. He stood opposite, hands behind his back. “How was it?” he asked quietly. “New therapist. Young. Warm hands. When he worked on my thighs I felt everything tighten inside.”

My voice stayed even. He did not answer, only lowered his eyes a little. The cage under his trousers was already making itself known. I kept going: how the fingers moved along the inside of my thigh, how I did not pull away even though I could have. When I tell him these things it is not small talk. He stayed silent, breathing harder. His jaw tightened.

His jealousy is a strange thing. Not humiliation, just a reminder of who decides.

After ten minutes I asked, “Is it difficult?” “Yes.” “Good.” I stood up and went back to the kettle. He stayed in the bedroom. When I returned he was already sitting on the floor by the bed. I did not mind. The talk turned calmer after that. Just facts and what I had felt.

Silence by the bed

Our boundary is simple: the story stays a story. No names, no meetings. If it gets too sharp I stop. He knows the word he can use to end it. In five years he has used it twice. After these talks we usually just hold each other. Sometimes I keep a hand in his hair, sometimes we simply lie there. There is no sex, but there is closeness.

The next evening I came home later and tired. He was warming up dinner. “Sit down, tell me if you want,” he said without looking up from the stove. I sat, took off my shoes. Started with how someone had brushed my arm on the train that morning. A talk like that does not always need a massage table. One small detail can be enough. He set the plate down and sat across from me. When I said I had not moved away at once, his fingers tightened on the table. The cage reminded him again.

We did not finish the meal. I stood, ran a hand over the back of his neck. “You did well.” He closed his eyes. It was the other part of the same ritual: the quiet confirmation that I had come home and chosen him again. The hour after is always the same — quiet, tea, his head on my lap.

Jealousy as seasoning

Jealousy does not need to be destroyed. It can be turned into a ritual when both people want that. The main things are regularity and honesty. When I say “I was turned on,” it is not about comparison. It is about coming home and giving it all to him in words. And he takes it.

Once I started telling him something and then felt unsure whether I wanted to continue. I stopped mid-sentence. He did not ask why. He simply waited. Later I laughed at myself: “Sometimes I mix up where the story ends and where I am just tired.”

When your wife is telling you something, do not try to fix it straight away. Just listen. Breathing, eyes, pauses — all of that matters more than the words. Then ask if anything else is needed tonight. Sometimes the answer is simply to hold her and let the rest go.

If you want to try, start small. Tell him not about a massage but about someone smiling at you in the checkout line. See how he reacts. If it stays calm, you can go further.

We have lived this way for several years now. Massage, talk, tea in the kitchen. Sometimes I stay turned on, sometimes I do not. He knows: I came home and chose him. Even when the hands were not his.

The underfloor heating in the bathroom was still warm when I went to wash my hands.
