The Amazon package was still by the door
The Amazon package was still by the door when I walked past it and started the coffee maker. Upstairs the hammering had already begun—new neighbors at seven in the morning.
He began with his tongue from behind without any talk. The Aldi bag stayed where I’d dropped it.
He knew the rule about the cage. Permission only.
He kissed me slowly from behind, the day after my head had been full of meetings. I felt the warm breath and the wet tongue waiting for the next word.
“Deeper,” I said without turning. He did it. A slow warm wave moved through me.
“Slower.” He obeyed at once. Only breathing and the sheet moving against skin.
My legs started to shake. I didn’t stop him.
His tongue stayed there longer than usual. Sometimes I just lay still and listened to him breathing against me. Sometimes I gave an order and felt the change in rhythm.
When I rolled onto my side his face was quiet. Eyes a little wet, mouth shiny. I touched his cheek with one finger and said, “Enough.”
He kissed my thigh and stayed on the floor.
The next afternoon I came back from Target with milk. I set the bag down and heard the vacuum. “Tired,” I said. Short.
He nodded and went for a towel without asking.
Ten minutes later I was lying in the same place again.
Upstairs the hammering started once more. I thought how awkward it would be if they could hear, but I didn’t stop.
“You can be louder,” he said quietly. I laughed once. “You’re joking.”
The unwind hour sometimes runs longer than planned. I just lay there and let him keep going until the tightness in my shoulders began to ease.
He never rushed. Only breathed and waited.
In the kitchen the yogurt pack was still open. I thought I should put it away but stayed where I was. Said “softer.” He understood.
That evening I sat on the sofa with the laptop, clearing email after a long Zoom. The courier had already gone; new boxes stood by the closet. “Bring tea,” I said without looking up. He set the mug down and waited while I finished the line. When I closed the laptop I simply lay on my stomach and said, “You can start.”
Sequence matters more than force turned out to be true. Once he knows the order, nothing extra happens.
Later I turned over. His face looked calm, almost tired. I touched his hair and said, “You can get up.”
He kissed my thigh and stood. The fridge hummed in the quiet room.
The cage key
The imbalance gives more than it seems. I get the attention and the control; he gets only the right to serve. No costumes, just a voice and consent.
An order after an ordinary day works better than any ritual. Everything begins after groceries or a meeting, and it still feels like real life.
Stopping at any moment matters to him as much as it does to me. When I say “enough,” he stops. That gives him certainty about the edges.
Breathing tells more than words. Sometimes it’s enough just to listen to him against my skin and know when to let it continue and when to end.
I once wondered whether to begin with the hammering going on upstairs, but I went ahead anyway. He didn’t ask why.
The cage key sits on the nightstand beside the cold tea. I sometimes forget to move it.
He carried the Amazon package inside only the next morning.

The Night I Said Yes
After twenty three days in the cage I decided it was time, using the key on its chain in the quiet kitchen while he asked out loud on one ordinary evening.

Forty Minutes on the Edge
I say the word at dinner and his fork slows. Chastity session edging lasts forty minutes before the cage clicks shut again and the house feels different for days.
